NEXT UP : ( A.$.A.P ROCKY)

Asap Rocky has a small buzz around the internet that led him to a reported 3 million doller record deal with sony (7million forhis solo output and $1.3 million to fund a group label called A$AP Worldwide). When I first heard of Asap Rocky I thought he was just a cat from Harlem who's gonna sound like a spilt between Cam'ron & Jim and just spit about cocaine bars. But after listening to his mixtape " Live,Love,Asap" I felt his music may take him further then 140th and Lennox.
Check out his Mixtape on Datpiff.com & livemixtape.com for the mixtape .But now hear an instrumental from his track "Peso"

WHY, WHY, WHY? Drake's Practice needs Practice

When XXL magazine tweeted about a song on Drake's album that sampled "Back that A** Up" I was completetly hyped to hear it. I thought with Drake's flow and a slight sample from a Mannie Fresh produced classic, this would be a track that was gonna be a reimerged club banger. Let's think, Drake a new Cashmoney artist paying homage to a veteran Cashmoney artist has the sound of a classic. But the disapointment I felt hearing this track was too mind blowing. I'm not a hater repeate "I'M NOT A HATER". When you take a Booty shaking cult classic and try to spin it to a real soft love ballad. It doesn't catch my ear.

Don't take a club banger and make it to a soft banger. Parts of the song sounded real out of place. The second verse had a chance, but still the track couldn't be saved. I dont't know if a remix is on the way with juvenile and Mannie fresh adding some well needed drums on their. The boy Drake needs a Ed Lover C'mon son for this track

Slept on Punchline (Cam'ron)

"Back in the dayz we were slaves whips n chains, it's tradition, all I got whips n chains"..... classsic!!!!!!!!!!!. There was a time when killa Cam was amongst the top 5 hottest rappers in the rap game. His flow, style & influence was impeccable. His harlem cocky flow had fans from state to state admiring the N.Y. swagger. but on this particular track Cam'ron's started out early with the knockout punchline that had me saying WHAT,let me rewind dat.

On DJ Clue's second album "The profesional 2" which featured a track called fantastic 4 that consisted of Nature, the Lox(Jada,Styles,Sheek) and Fabolous. Cam'ron's flow through out the track was enough to get him known as one of the nicest M.C's out of N.Y.C. and what was soon to come would be more crazy punchlines. At the time the album came out Cam'ron was not on Rocafella records and was still sighned to columbia. No one would have ever know the following year "2002" that Cam'ron would reighn surpreme as a top artist and having major influence on the culture, example "NO HOMO", "PINK".

A Nas Quote ( "Hate me now" 3rd verse. Classic)

It's a thin line between paper and hate
friends and snakes, nine millis and thirty-eights
Hell or the pearly gates; I was destined to come
Predicted, blame God, he blew breath in my lungs
Second to none, wicked turn wives to widows
Shoot through satin pillows, the desolate one
Took a little time to claim my spot
Chairman of the board until this game stop, and I side with the Lord
Ride for the cause while drivin niggas shot at my doors
Plottin I'm sure to catch me with they glocks to my jaws
Tried, stickin me up, but I flipped on these ducks (you tried)
Instead of me, ambulances were picking them up (that's what you get)
Niggas fear what they don't understand, hate what they can't conquer
Guess it's just the fury of man
Became a monster, on top of the world, never fallin
I'm as real as they come, from day one, forever ballin

The Curse of Bad Boy Records

Years ago (back in the early 90s) one of the top hip hop record labels were Death Row records, run by Suge Knight and Bad Boy records run by Sean P. Diddy Combs. If you wanted success as an artist in the music industry, Bad Boy records was the choice. But with success ,things tend to happen. The greatest rapper of all time who is sighned to your label dies in Los Angeles from a so called eastcoast/westcoast rap beef. Your next protege who has a debut album that sells 5 million records decides to leave your label after finding god. These Implecations of numerious events are sighns of the Bad Boy curse.

Its something about the label that just turns pontential stars to 1 hit and 1 album wonders. Artist like Loon,G Dep & Shyne have had legal problems that put their career in jeopardy. I'm not saying the label purposely sighns artist to help them get a degree as criminals. I'm just saying how ironic it is that you sighn to bad boy records and in the next 5 years your either behind bars facing murder or drug charges (G Dep,Black Rob,Loon). Once an artist leaves Bad Boy, their Career is never the same. Now thats like  Whoa.

let's not mentions some of the fewer acts who are not in jail or serving time. Like Total or the all girl pop group Dream. What about the making the band cats or B5 (who) yes these acts are gone and forgotten.

Biggie Quote of the day

Biggie was a true word smith when it came to his rhymes on a track. Biggie and a few other artist are guys who can make a whole book out of their lyrics. this Quote is from one of my favorite Biggie songs "Sky's the Limit" from Biggies second L.P. life after death. The lyric embodies where Biggie was at in his career. An artist who was trying to get a strong message to his fans or people who dare to listen.

The (Cornrow Braids) Era.Who really started it.?

Every dude you could possibly know had a their hair braided Once in their life. you could check peoples  old year books or Myspace pages. The 2000's were a time where  every rapper, singer, sports athletes, Doctor and School Teacher had their hair braided. But 1 thing people don't seem to realize is who helped the cornrow phenomonon spark. Some say it was Allen Iverson who started rockin the Braids after the 97-98 season. But others say it started with latrell Sprewell  while he was on the New York Knicks during the 98-99 season. In my opinion, the craze started around late 1998 - 99. And just splurged out of control

1# without cliché buzz

Pittsburg m.c.  Mac Miller  has scored the 1 record on billboard Charts selling, 144K copies in his 1st week. It's crazy how the 19 year old teen artist has the 1# record and has no real strong airplay on NYC top radio stations (power 105 & Hot 97). The days of  radio stations dictating music might be over. Hip Hop artist with strong internet presents are going in their own directions. No big cosighns,No big features. New artist are performing infront of soldout crowds across the country and gaining a cult following. On top of that,Mac Miller is an independent artist. So be prepared for Mac Miller to not only sighn an huge Major label deal, but watch how the Bandwagon starts to shake in the next couple of months

The JAY-Z Quote of the Day

"I'm not a business Man I'm a business!, let me attained to my Business..... DAMN"
this JAY-Z quote came from the ever so classic "Diamonds are forever" remix that appeared on Kanye West second album Late Registration. JAY-Z's lyrics are always words dat everyday people live by. this quote right here displies how he's a brand and just not a regular artist

R.I.P. Heavy D .

It's crazy how just a month ago the legendary Heavy D, was on the B.E.T. hip hop awards performing some of his classics. its messed up how somebody could be here and then gone the next day.  Just hours before the rapper died on Tuesday, he wrote, "BE INSPIRED!" -- which turned out to be his very last tweet

One of the Greatest Southern Hip Hop Lp's of all time : Juvenile 400 degreez

I Hate when great things Aren't regonized. In my opinion this album revolutionized southern hip hop and perpeled cash money records to super stardom. The album introduced the world to many things. Example, the sounds of Manie Fresh who produced the entire record and captured the sound of New Orleans hip hop.The album also featured some key Mc's who would go on and excite the rap game. this was really the 1st time the world would hear a young m.c. by the name of LiL Wayne (now non as Weezy f. Baby, Tunchie etc). also the album featured a rare apperance from the god M.c. JAY-Z on the ha remix.

A must see movie "Middle Men"

Ok so I'm late on some movies. But the fact this film came out some time now (2009) I've just seen the film for the 1st time, a couple of days ago. And I must say this is some funny stuff. The Film shows the stuggles of working and raising a family with a fast action high stress career in the entertainment industry. This is a movie that I would recommend to anyone wanting to watch something that has a humor but also a good storyline.

Converse jack Purcell "Hunter Camo"

i was never a huge fan of the Converse Brand till this summer. these new "Hunter Como" joints are fire (In My opinion ) you could almost wear these with anything. side note - sort of, kind of, looks like a knock off from the BBC brand.

Im starting to Become a fan of Coldplay

Idk wat was it but for the past couple of days,I've been drawn the the UK's band album, " Parachutes" which is an album that came out years ago. this is wat I call timeless music. being the fact I'm a huge hip hop guy, this is kind of mood music feel minus the samples.

Brooklyn nets are coming

living in Brookly for substantial time in my life, Ive always thought about what if the world renowed borrough would actually get an arena. I dreamed about wrestling events, concerts and a sporting team for the borrough. Now that dream will come true in 2012. With the announcing of the new team name Brooklyn nets (that was a surprise LMAO) i will see an arena in the borrough real soon
