A Nas Quote ( "Hate me now" 3rd verse. Classic)

It's a thin line between paper and hate
friends and snakes, nine millis and thirty-eights
Hell or the pearly gates; I was destined to come
Predicted, blame God, he blew breath in my lungs
Second to none, wicked turn wives to widows
Shoot through satin pillows, the desolate one
Took a little time to claim my spot
Chairman of the board until this game stop, and I side with the Lord
Ride for the cause while drivin niggas shot at my doors
Plottin I'm sure to catch me with they glocks to my jaws
Tried, stickin me up, but I flipped on these ducks (you tried)
Instead of me, ambulances were picking them up (that's what you get)
Niggas fear what they don't understand, hate what they can't conquer
Guess it's just the fury of man
Became a monster, on top of the world, never fallin
I'm as real as they come, from day one, forever ballin

The Curse of Bad Boy Records

Years ago (back in the early 90s) one of the top hip hop record labels were Death Row records, run by Suge Knight and Bad Boy records run by Sean P. Diddy Combs. If you wanted success as an artist in the music industry, Bad Boy records was the choice. But with success ,things tend to happen. The greatest rapper of all time who is sighned to your label dies in Los Angeles from a so called eastcoast/westcoast rap beef. Your next protege who has a debut album that sells 5 million records decides to leave your label after finding god. These Implecations of numerious events are sighns of the Bad Boy curse.

Its something about the label that just turns pontential stars to 1 hit and 1 album wonders. Artist like Loon,G Dep & Shyne have had legal problems that put their career in jeopardy. I'm not saying the label purposely sighns artist to help them get a degree as criminals. I'm just saying how ironic it is that you sighn to bad boy records and in the next 5 years your either behind bars facing murder or drug charges (G Dep,Black Rob,Loon). Once an artist leaves Bad Boy, their Career is never the same. Now thats like  Whoa.

let's not mentions some of the fewer acts who are not in jail or serving time. Like Total or the all girl pop group Dream. What about the making the band cats or B5 (who) yes these acts are gone and forgotten.

Biggie Quote of the day

Biggie was a true word smith when it came to his rhymes on a track. Biggie and a few other artist are guys who can make a whole book out of their lyrics. this Quote is from one of my favorite Biggie songs "Sky's the Limit" from Biggies second L.P. life after death. The lyric embodies where Biggie was at in his career. An artist who was trying to get a strong message to his fans or people who dare to listen.

The (Cornrow Braids) Era.Who really started it.?

Every dude you could possibly know had a their hair braided Once in their life. you could check peoples  old year books or Myspace pages. The 2000's were a time where  every rapper, singer, sports athletes, Doctor and School Teacher had their hair braided. But 1 thing people don't seem to realize is who helped the cornrow phenomonon spark. Some say it was Allen Iverson who started rockin the Braids after the 97-98 season. But others say it started with latrell Sprewell  while he was on the New York Knicks during the 98-99 season. In my opinion, the craze started around late 1998 - 99. And just splurged out of control

1# without cliché buzz

Pittsburg m.c.  Mac Miller  has scored the 1 record on billboard Charts selling, 144K copies in his 1st week. It's crazy how the 19 year old teen artist has the 1# record and has no real strong airplay on NYC top radio stations (power 105 & Hot 97). The days of  radio stations dictating music might be over. Hip Hop artist with strong internet presents are going in their own directions. No big cosighns,No big features. New artist are performing infront of soldout crowds across the country and gaining a cult following. On top of that,Mac Miller is an independent artist. So be prepared for Mac Miller to not only sighn an huge Major label deal, but watch how the Bandwagon starts to shake in the next couple of months

The JAY-Z Quote of the Day

"I'm not a business Man I'm a business!, let me attained to my Business..... DAMN"
this JAY-Z quote came from the ever so classic "Diamonds are forever" remix that appeared on Kanye West second album Late Registration. JAY-Z's lyrics are always words dat everyday people live by. this quote right here displies how he's a brand and just not a regular artist

R.I.P. Heavy D .

It's crazy how just a month ago the legendary Heavy D, was on the B.E.T. hip hop awards performing some of his classics. its messed up how somebody could be here and then gone the next day.  Just hours before the rapper died on Tuesday, he wrote, "BE INSPIRED!" -- which turned out to be his very last tweet
